Singing from the heart
choir resources
Thank you for joining us to sing together and raise money and awareness for Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv.
If you haven’t already registered, please do so. Your choir will be listed in the program, given a poster board sign to hold up (at the right time, which is explained later) and given a shout out during the concert. This concert will also be livestreamed, and people will be watching across the globe! But we need to know you’re coming, so please register here…
Instructions for practicing music:
The concert will BEGIN with all the choir folk (that’s YOU!) singing the Ukrainian National Anthem in Ukrainian. Please use these resources to learn the music and the pronunciation. If you cannot print the PDFs, we will printed copies available when you arrive at the concert.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE (at least 15 minutes early if possible):
1) Pick up your printed music if needed;
2) Find your choir on either side of the sanctuary. Do not sit in the center area of the house as the cameras will not be able to see your choir signs.
3) The concert will begin with the Ukrainian National Anthem. ALL will stand when we sing this. Please stand with the audience to sing, but do not hold up your sign just yet.
4) Enjoy the concert!
5) After PhilHarmonia finishes their set, we will have closing statements (thank yous to all our supporters!) and then will begin the choir “shout outs”. When your choir name is called, please stand, face the center of the room, hold your sign up high, and give a little cheer. Pan your sign to the audience in the center of the house, all the way to the back of the sanctuary towards the balcony. This is important to keep it high and pan it to the back so we can get it on the streaming cameras.
6) Stay standing and facing the audience in the center. We will be led by Dzvin Ukrainian Male Folk Choir in singing the first verse of Prayer for Ukraine in Ukrainian. The second verse will be in English and we will indicate to the audience to stand and sing with us.
7) After the concert, we would like to get a photo of ALL the choirs who participated. Please head to the front of the sanctuary with your groups and your signs for this photo.
8) You are all invited to join us in the Community Room (next to the sanctuary) and surrounding hallway areas for a beverage and some home-baked goods compliments of PhilHarmonia and Nashirah choir members.
